Satomi Family Restaurant
Kuidokoro Satomi Kamegai ten くいどころ里味, founded in 1974, serves as a community meeting spot. Kuidokoro (くいどころ / 食い処) means "a place to eat", Satomi (里味) with its Kanji means "hometown flavor", because that was the aim of the restaurant a rustic taste of comfort. It plays on the phrase sato no aji (里の味), which translates to "taste of the countryside" or "home-style flavor", which means the majority of foods are Niigata sourced ingredients. They serve up Hegi Soba (Funori Soba), Tare Katsu, Tempura, Koshi-hikari Rice, Maguro Zuke Don (Marinated Maguro Don), Negitoro Don, Unagi Box, Beef Box, and Nigiri Sushi.
Their mascot is the "Mito Komon doll" based on the longest-running television period drama in Japanese history.
